Sands of Sound Beach

It's walled gardens are an ideal place to sit and watch the kids run around or only 5 minutes away is the fantastic Sands of Sound beach which will keep your family entertained for hours.

If you fancy a stroll, then the immediate area is wonderful for trying to spot some of Shetland's rarer wildlife such as otters and porpoises but of course being in a rural area and within the boundaries of a farm, next door are some more familiar sights such as horses etc and even a large duck pond where the local inhabitants are only too keen to share your bread!

There are numerous places to eat in Lerwick as well as an array of places to shop or if you're wanting to find out more about our unique history, culture and landscape, Shetland's visitor attractions provide for a fascinating, fun day out.

On the odd day that it rains, Shetland has an impressive network of 7 leisure centres all over the islands, so the children will be kept busy as you sit, relax and watch them have fun.
