Westhall Cottage Self Catering

Westhall CottageCompleted in January 2010 Westhall Cottage is a two bedroom self catering cottage. The cottage was re-constructed on the footprint of an original But and Ben cottage with an extension to the rear. It is furnished to the highest standards with hardwood flooring throughout, and is fully insulated / central heated.

There is ample parking for at least two vehicles on our tarred driveway / parking areas.

The cottage was originally referred to as the offices for the big house, being accommodation for the family who worked on the farm. It has been sympathetically rebuilt in a style acceptable to the Listed Building Planning and has excellent facilities to make your holiday in Shetland one to remember.

The Cottage has views to the east over to the Island of Bressay and to the west over the Sands of Sound beach.

Stand outside on the patio on a summers evening, listen to the sounds of the sea lapping onto the shore, the tirricks and gannets diving for fish and smell the fresh seaweed lying on the rocks. Hear the seals talking to one another in the late evening or early morning.

Surrounded by all this wildlife and farm animals and only 5 minutes from the centre of Lerwick, where else would you want to spend your summer holiday?

Wireless broadband is provided free of charge in all rooms.

Bedrooms

 

On the ground floor is located a Double bedroom complete with a king sized bed, storage units and walk-in wardrobe.

 

 

On the first floor there is a twin bedroom with two single sized beds. 

 

Bathrooms

On the ground floor is located a bathroom room containing a toilet & shower over bath with mains pressure showers that provides plenty of zest to get you up and running in the morning. 

 

 

 

On the first floor there is room containing a toilet & large step in shower with mains pressure shower.

 

 

 Lounge

The ground floor lounge provides seating for up to 5 and includes a sofa which converts to a double bed for guests.The room has a full height roof reaching up into the rafter space giving it a very open and light feel.  

 

It is equipped with a feature wood burning stove which provides a cozy homely environment on those Shetland winter evenings. It has picture windows that look over stunning views on three sides.There is a FreeView flat screen TV & DVD player for entertainment and to keep in touch with what is happening in the outside world.

  

 

Dining Kitchen

The dining kitchen is located on the ground floor and is fully equipped for up to 6 people. Facilities include:

Entrance porch, Hallway, and Stairs

An entrance porch is provided to store coats and boots. This leads into a hallways and stair fitted with feature windows.
